Meet The Team

Meet our friendly, experienced and dedicated therapy staff:

Susan Klas, PTA:
Susan has worked for Associated Physical Therapists of Milwaukee since 1997.  Susan graduated from the Milwaukee Area Technical College in 1997 with an Associate's Degree in the Physical Theapy Assistant program.  Susan is active in the WPTA and takes an interest in staying up on the latest research and treatment techniques.  She has taken continuing education courses in a variety of areas, including edema control, kinesiotaping, muscle energy, PNF, manual therapy, Bell's palsy, Sahrmann's muscle imbalance techniques, Mulligan, Gary Grey's functional interventions and Pilates.  Susan has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1996 and is also a member of the orthopaedic section.  Susan's personal motto is "Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference."  Susan demonstrates this motto every day with her energetic and positive nature.  When Susan is not busy at our clinic, she has a number of other interests, including roller-skating, watching roller derby, gardening, Zumba, traveling to exotic places and spending time with her family.

Rita Clark, PTA:
Rita has been a physical therapy assistant at our clinics since 1991.  Before becoming a licensed PTA, Rita worked as a Physical therapy aide.  Rita is trained in a variety of specialty services, including manual therapy, myofascial release, muscle energy, strain-counterstrain, TMJ dysfunction, core stabilization and work conditioning.  Rita's motto is "treat others as you would like to be treated."  Rita exemplifies this motto every day with her excellent patient care.  Rita is active outside of work as the mother of two Eagle scouts and as a volunteer at church in a youth group.  Rita has two Border Collies at home who keep going 24/7.  Rita also enjoys making jewelry, needlepoint and other craft projects.

Pam Patla, PTA:
Pamela has been employed as a physical therapist assistant at APTM outpatient clinic since 2006. Pam previously worked twelve years in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department for Columbia Hospital in a variety of settings; orthopedics, acute care, Sacred Heart rehabilitation center, work-hardening, general medicine and as a massage therapist at CSM Spinal Clinic. Pam graduated from the Milwaukee Area Technical College in 1993 with an Associates Degree in the Physical Therapy Assistant program. In 1979 Pam graduated from the New Mexico School of Natural Theraputics as a massage therapist/bodyworker and worked at high-end salons/spas before attending MATC in 1990. She is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association since 1986 and past member of the APTA. Pam has taken many continuing education courses/workshops in a variety of areas through the AMTA and APTA including Kinetic Massage, Myofascial Release, stretching, Muscle Release Technique, Precision Neuromuscular Therapy, kinesiotaping, and Ethics. Pam's personal motto is "Bloom Where You Are Planted”, an affirming philosophy. Pam is fortunate to love therapy and making a difference in the lives of those we serve in therapy. Pam has enjoyed motherhood, raising her 27 year old son, Robert, who works in the entertainment field in Los Angeles.  Her interests are nutrition, natural therapy, health and beauty, water therapy, thrift stores, listening to music, reading history, current events, and web-surfing.

Dana Washburn, OTR:
Dana has been a licensed occupational therapist for more than 12 years.  She received her Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois.  She has experience in a variety of settings, including acute care, rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities and home health care prior to beginning work at our outpatient clinic.  Dana is a certified Kinesiotaping practitioner and  has taken advanced coursework in Neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT) and myofascial release.  Dana is also a member of the AOTA and WOTA.  Dana's motto of "a positive attitude makes almost anything possible" is reflected in the treatment she provides to every patient.  Dana enjoys shopping at World Market and is busy with Zumba classes and activities with her three children.

Jaclyn Borchardt, CCC-SLP:
Jacci became a member of the APTM team in 2009.  She graduated with a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Wisconsin in 2006.  Jacci brings experience in treating both children and adults in a variety of settings, including acute care, inpatient/subacute rehab and outpatient care.  Jacci is certified in the LSVT for individuals with Parkinson's Disease and has a special interest in treating people with aphasia.  Jacci is a member of a number of ASHA Special Interest divisions and enjoys attending continuing education courses.  Jacci's motto is to "go confidently in the direction of your dreams" and she strives to make a positive impact on each patient's life.  Jacci is the mother of energetic twin boys and attempts to find free time to watch sports, play in a soccer league and read fiction novels.
